Historical Background University Hall is a service oriented unit for students and staff. It was opened as a Hall of residence in July1957. It is among the oldest halls on campus. The 1st intake were second year students who were transferred from (Northcote Hall by then) now Nsibirwa Hall:
The structure of the Building was of a rectangular form. During the 1960/61 the original plan was alternated and extended to the following blocks:
Q - were extended and more rooms were added
C - from 9 rooms to 23 rooms each block.
S & A had parking space down, but the alternation made during that time eight rooms were added as follows: S 13, S 14, S 15, S 16, then A 13, A14, A 15 and A 16.
It’s a goat land community.
The strength of a chain depends on its flexibility,” the goats” in goat land have their very unique points of strength exemplified in many ways. They possess an unequalled standard of cleanliness; a rare gentleness; a humbling understanding of issues and enviable sportsmanship qualities.

Capacity
The hall accomodates about 521 students and feeds approximately 1000.250 of them in the Dining hall and 750 in the cafteria. Hall Culture
The students call their hall as the only hall on campus, with a culture of a special and strong meekness symbolized by their association with a goat–thus the language of goat land, “Heb! Heb! Heb!” The students call themselves goats.
Not until 1974, the Hall was known as U/Hall the strategists(the only University Hall on Campus – with a slogan of one for Katanga one for soweto; plus the saying of Maama Kakyaala.
Note: this lady was staying at Katanga village selling local booze.
In 2004 the goats decided to look for the she goats, the hunting ended up to the Hostel called Garden courts which is found at off Sir Apollo Kaggwa Road. They united both the cultures and came up with a New name of “Unicorts Solidarity” since that day, all the cultural activities are carried together as Unicent solidality”
Hall Anthem University hall the hall of halls, victory lies within our Gallant grip.
Strategists united always triumph
